Home Cinema Room Design
Cinema Room will even design your home cinema room for you so you can see exactly what you room will look.
For home cinema systems some of the products we use are: Sony,Epson 4k projectors, JVC THX Sony 4k tv screens, LG/Panasonic OLED, Artcoustic speakers and Sonos.
Source components for your home cinema include Blu Ray & 4k UHD Blu Ray, as well as download options such as Amazon and Netflix or Apple TV. Blu Ray and streaming services all include 5.1 or 7.1 soundtracks where available to really show off your home cinema and make you completely immersed in the movie. 4k Blu ray includes uncompressed soundtracksDolby Atmos, and 4k UHD resolution pictures.
The quality of home cinema projectors is constantly improving and the images are of an extremely high quality. Projectors require near darkness in order to produce the best images, though ambient light is not as much a problem as with earlier models. A flat screen can provide a good solution if this is a problem.
In professional cinemas the speakers are always placed behind the screen so the sound comes from the picture making the whole experience more genuine. With projector based cinemas we design in the same way. We use acoustically transparent screens with speakers behind. The screen and projector can be fixed in a dedicated room, or be motorised and hidden when not in use.
We use Artcoustic speakers as they are slim, wall mounted and perfect for both fixed and hidden systems. In hidden systems the speakers remain in place while the screen disappears but the clever Artcoustic design means they complement the room and don’t look like a big piece of cinema kit. This makes them ideal for living rooms, games rooms etc. If a system is based around a plasma or LCD screen then the speakers should be placed around the screen to give the best sound stage possible.
Panasonic and JVC both have excellent 2D products but with the added advantage of 3D as well. Glasses are now lighter than ever and Cinema Rooms always try to future proof it’s systems depending on what you the client wants.
As technological progresses this enables manufacturers to offer screens that get lighter, thinner and better year by year, at affordable costs, the trend is obviously to have the slimest screen possible at home, and to hang it on the wall, or to replace it with a state-of-the-art projector. In terms of image resolution, HD will become insufficient on large screens, and this is where Ultra High Definition (UHD) will come into its own.
Companies like Sony,Samsung,Panasonic and JVC have already made professional products that can show 4K Ultra High Definition and with the recent Sony 4k TV’s and projectors you will soon see them in the home market.
4K offer four time the resolution of standard HD. Digital Cinema is slightly different from TV (a 4K cinema frame has 4096 pixels per line compared to 3840 for 4K TV), “more films than ever are post-produced in 4K.
All we need now is source material to play 4K on. A standard 4k disc can not be played on a Blu-ray machine so a new device will be needed to play 4K Ultra High Definition on.
Eutelsat will be one company that will be transmitting 4K Ultra High Definition very soon.
